Our Mission & Vision
At the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California, we are committed to building a vibrant, engaged, and inclusive Muslim community in Southern California and beyond. For over 29 years, we have worked tirelessly to promote unity, service, and leadership among Muslims of all backgrounds, and to serve as a trusted voice for our community in the wider society
Our Purpose
Through our various programs, initiatives, and partnerships, we offer a range of services to individuals, families, and organizations throughout the region. From educational resources and training programs to interfaith dialogue and advocacy, we strive to empower and inspire people to live their best lives and make a positive impact in the world.

Our team at the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California is made up of dedicated individuals who are committed to serving our community and promoting our values of unity, service, and leadership. From our board of directors to our staff members and volunteers, each person brings unique skills, experiences, and perspectives to our work.
ABOUT SHURA COUNCIL
Mission: The Islamic Shura Council of Southern California represents the consensus of Southern California Muslims, promotes communication and service among member organizations and society-at-large, advocates on behalf of its members, and advances leadership development.

Vision: Excellence in Leadership and Strength in Unity.
The Islamic Shura Council was formed on April 20, 1995, by the Muslim leadership as a community-based nonprofit – 501(c)3 organization. This was a response to fill the need for an umbrella organization representing and advocating on behalf of the growing number of mosques and Muslim organizations in Southern California. It now has an impressive membership of 65 mosques and Muslim organizations. The organization also coordinated outreach campaigns and workshops on relevant issues for its constituencies. The linguistic meaning of Shura is the procedure of making decisions by mutual consultation and consensus​​
